Sagrada Familia

Because it’s summer and people go in holidays in other countries I would like to present you one of Barcelona most beautiful places- the Sagrada Familia. It’s one of those places you cannot miss while being in Spain- otherwise you’ll regret it.
Sagrada Familia was designed by the Spanish architect Antonio Gaudi, and it is still under construction- the date at which it will be complete is around 2026- but you shouldn’t worry there are many things to see- the exterior is amazing and compensates for the interior which is still under construction. This magnificent modern church amazes the visitors not only with the unusual statues and decorations, but also with its amazing geometry. For instance did you know that Gaudi was inspired by nature ? The immense columns that are found inside the church are a geometric representation of trees, the hyperbolic paraboloid mimics the root of a tree , the spirals copy the pattern of a snail, and the leaves of palm trees are found all over the building. Even some of the windows give you the feeling that Gaudi was looking at a bee hive while drawing this huge church.
You can read more on Wikipedia about it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagrada_Fam%C3%ADlia .

Have a nice day!
